Our commitment

ATHINA AD is committed to digital accessibility for everyone. We design, build, and test our website and app with disability in mind, and we welcome feedback that helps us improve.

Standard we aim for

Our target is conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, which is also the technical reference for Section 508 (United States), the European Accessibility Act, and EN 301 549. We test against this standard for the public website (athinaad.com) and the signed-in app (the upload, history, statistics, and contact areas).

What's supported on the public website today

  • A "Skip to main content" link at the top of every page so keyboard users can bypass the header.
  • Semantic HTML landmarks (<header>, <nav>, <main>, <footer>) and ARIA labels so screen readers can navigate by region.
  • Keyboard support throughout: every interactive control can be reached and operated with a keyboard, with visible focus indicators.
  • A theme switch with light and dark modes; your choice is remembered between visits.
  • Text-size controls (A-, A, A+) that increase or decrease body text; your choice is remembered.
  • Live regions (aria-live="polite") that announce status messages from contact and registration forms to screen readers.
  • Form fields with associated <label> elements, required-field indicators, and per-field error messages.
  • No autoplay audio or video. The featured demo video is user-initiated and includes native browser controls.
  • Color choices designed for strong contrast against backgrounds, in both themes.
  • A responsive layout that works on mobile, tablet, and desktop, with text reflow at 320 px wide.
  • Honeypot anti-spam fields that are visually hidden but do not trap focus or interfere with assistive technology.

What's supported in the signed-in app

  • Email-only signup that does not require solving a CAPTCHA puzzle.
  • An idle-timeout warning and recoverable sign-out flow.
  • Result pages where transcripts, written descriptions, and narration audio are accessible separately — you can read the script and listen to the audio independently.
  • Downloadable transcripts in plain text so you can take outputs into your preferred screen reader or braille display.
  • A contact form inside the dashboard for support requests.

Known limitations

  • A formal third-party accessibility audit has not yet been completed. We run internal checks against WCAG 2.2 AA but have not yet commissioned a VPAT (Voluntary Product Accessibility Template).
  • AI-generated descriptions and transcripts can occasionally miss context or contain mistakes. Please review high-stakes content before sharing it. Reporting errors with the in-app feedback form helps us improve.
  • The native browser video controls on the featured demo follow each browser's accessibility behavior, which can vary.
  • Some advanced screen-reader gestures (e.g. table-navigation in our admin dashboard) are intended for staff use and have not been optimized for screen-reader workflows.

Assistive technology we test with

We test the website and core app flows with a combination of:

  • NVDA on Windows with Chrome and Firefox.
  • VoiceOver on macOS with Safari, and on iOS with Safari.
  • TalkBack on Android with Chrome.
  • Keyboard-only navigation across all supported browsers.
  • The browser zoom up to 200% and our built-in text-size controls.

Report an accessibility issue

If you find an accessibility barrier, please tell us so we can fix it. The fastest ways to reach us:

  • The contact form on this website — pick "General Inquiries" or "Complaints" and mention "accessibility" in the message.
  • The contact form inside your user dashboard once you sign in.
  • Email us directly at info@athinaad.com.

When you write to us, please include the page URL, what happened, what you expected to happen, and the device, browser, and assistive technology you used. We aim to respond within 24 hours.
